The C-17 is the most flexible cargo aircraft in the airlift force. It delivers troops and other supplies during conflicts, aeromedical evacuations and humanitarian efforts all over the world. Cargo is loaded through a large aft ramp and door system that accommodates a wide variety of air-transportable equipment, including a 69-ton M1 Abrams main battle tank, armored vehicles, trucks and trailers. In addition to vehicles and supplies, the C-17 can carry 102 paratroopers with their accompanying equipment.
